A stylish way to give the gift of five sugared almonds is with a stemmed confetti flower. Confetti is from the Italian word for confection. In this technique, five slim confetto are fashioned into petals. They are wrapped in fine colored tulle or tinted cellophane and secured to a stiff wire stem and decorated. The work is done by skilled artisans in Italy by custom order. (We ask for 4-6 weeks advance notice for processing your order.) Confetti flowers are often made with candy that looks like almonds, but is actually with a dark chocolate center. It still represents the bitter and the sweet, and it costs less. Usually sugared almonds may be substituted for chocolate confetti - see the individual product descriptions. The gift of five almonds is a popular Italian and Greek tradition, shared by many other European cultures. Confetti flowers are a new way to acknowledge the past.. |
