| | What is Confetti?
 The "Confetti" in Confetti Flowers refers to flower favors made with the candy-coated almond called "confetto" in Italian.
For many Meditteranean cultures, a celebration is incomplete without the gift of these sugared almonds to recognize the "bitter and sweet" of life.
In America, sugared almonds are generally called "Jordan Almonds," for the smooth, slender Jordan River variety. Most Jordan Almonds sold bulk in craft stores and supermarkets are made with round California almonds and have hard, crunchy sugar coating. What a difference from real imported sugared almonds from Italy, sold here!

How to make confetti flowers:
• From a bolt of ribbon, cut off a length of special pocketed ribbon, sometimes called coccardi or portaconfetti.
• Insert a sugared almond into each petal.
• Gather the sewn-in double tension strings from each side to form a flower.
• Insert a floral or sparkly accent in the middle for a finishing touch.
